The SACEOS’ MICE Innovation Spotlight recently highlighted how SIWW
organisers collaborated with Occam Lab, a start-up that offers turnkey
event technology solutions for events. One of Singapore’s A-list events,
the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) Spotlight 2023, used
SmartOne event tag solution to provide a seamless and intuitive system
that eased attendees’ journey from registration to networking and also
offered organisers real-time event and attendee data.
Ryan Yuen, managing director, Singapore International Water Week,
said, “SIWW is constantly on the lookout for cutting edge technologies
and solutions that enhance the user experience, as well as to furnish us
with additional knowledge about our delegates, so that we can
continuously make SIWW an event that meets attendees ever-evolving
needs. Occam’s SmartOne solution allowed us to do this, and such
integrated technological solutions raise the standards across the MICE
industry in Singapore.”
Easy registration
By offering a contactless check-in and registration process, the tags
eliminated long queues that are typical at events. Once onsite,
attendees printed their event badges at the self-check-in kiosks and
activated their SmartOne event tags which allowed access with different
networking and engagement features such as personalised digital business
cards.

To overcome the hurdles of collecting real time data and insights and
to enable attendance tracking, SmartOne automated these processes,
providing real-time data of ballroom occupancy and session retention.
This allowed organisers to make informed decisions and customise
engagements instantly.
Engaging attendees
The button on the event tag enabled attendees to actively participate
in real-time polls, providing feedback and insights on session topics
and event content. This improved attendee engagement, encouraging active
participation and elevated the overall event experience.
Value-add for exhibitors
Upcoming additions to the platform will include a dynamic dashboard
that visually identifies areas with low delegate density, enabling
timely on-demand activation strategies. Delegates will be given tailored
lists of exhibition booths aligned with their registered interests or
inferred preferences.
For exhibitors, SmartOne will provide lead prioritisation lists based
on delegates’ booth visit durations, streamlining post-event follow-ups
and maximising conversion rates with the aim of fostering profitable
engagements for both organisers and exhibitors.
