Sands China has launched Macau’s first hybrid broadcast space, the Smart
Stage, at The Londoner Macao as it anticipates the return of regional
and international MICE events to the city.
The
sophisticated "extended reality"(XR) studio offers professional
broadcast quality live-streaming capability and hologram functionality.
Unlike a classic "green screen" environment, XR allows presenters to
interact with real-time visual markers to deliver a more authentic
experience.
Taking centre stage is a set fitted with a high-tech backdrop and
floor that can be reconfigured to fit various event needs. The lighting
system can similarly be customised, designed, and operated to suit a
range of event requirements.
Smart Stage was created by the same in-house entertainment production
team that has overseen productions from superstars such as The Rolling
Stones, Alicia Keys, and Bruno Mars.
Kris Kaminsky, senior vice president of hotel operations, Sands
China, said: “The Smart Stage at The Londoner Macao beautifully
complements our existing MICE and entertainment offerings, especially as
we complete the final touches of our new state of the art 6,000-seat
multi-purpose Londoner Arena, also at our The Londoner Macao property."
Stephanie Tanpure, Sands China vice president of sales, added:
“Border restrictions have posed a unique challenge for us in terms of
customer site inspections, but Smart Stage has enabled us to conduct
virtual site inspections, product training, live talks and other events
to remain front of mind even in the midst of the global pandemic.”
The integrated resort hosted over 400 virtual site inspections from
the Smart Stage in its inaugural month, for customers across the globe
including Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the US, India, South Korea
and Japan.
