Zoom's December updates seeks to upgrade virtual and hybrid events with enhanced tools.
Online event applications are growing more sophisticated in response
to business demands, including virtual meetings leader Zoom which
recently announced enhancements to key features for better attendee
engagement. and management.
For branding purposes, businesses using zoom can now tap on Zoom's
expanded watermark settings, which allows the customising of logo size
and placement before the meeting begins.
At the virtual event, meeting and webinar hosts and/or co-hosts can
now crosscheck live attendance status using the improved Attendance
Status (“Has everyone joined”) option. This feature works for those with
Google and Outlook calendar integrations.
For seamless presentations, Zoom now allows multiple hosts to control
the slides, which means attendees won't be hearing any more "next slide
please".
To increase active participation and interaction, hosts now have more
options when it comes to polls: think short and long answers, ranked
responses, matching, and fill in the blanks. This also serves to gather
feedback and insights.
Hosts and moderators can also now turn chats on and off at any time,
and opt for closed captioning API using third-party support.
As well, it is no longer necessary to close breakout rooms in order
to rename or remove/add extra rooms. These actions can even be performed
with active breakout rooms open.
Zoom's Video Webinars function currently allows up to 100 interactive
video panelists & 50,000 view-only attendees, including November's
update to support live-streaming meetings or webinars on Facebook,
YouTube, or custom integrations.
