Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) recently launched its new Exhibition Service Centre (ESC) portal, which allows event organisers and their exhibitors to easily access and order a variety of add-on services for their events.
According to John Burke, KLCC's deputy general manager, "We are delighted to be launching this new service in conjunction with the fourth annual Global Meetings Industry Day. Event organisers and exhibitors play an important role in driving the global meetings industry that contributes so much both financially and intellectually (via knowledge transfer) to our economies, and as such we are excited to be launching a service which should help make their events more successful and their lives a bit easier."
This is a breakthrough for KLCC, since an exhibitor's attendance and booth needs are typically booked through their event organisers and involves a lot of paper-based service order forms and manual data entry. "The 24/7 ESC portal now allows exhibitors at the Centre to place their orders and pay online in their own time - at any time - minimising hassle. It is especially beneficial for international participants as they don't have to worry about time differences," Burke added.
The range of add-on services available to order via ESC portal including audio visual, food and beverage, as well as IT equipment and services. The portal is fully customisable, too. For example, tailor-made links and landing pages can be created to suit particular event requirements for each organiser. Also, data entry and payment processes can be streamlined to avoid confusion.
Burke concluded, "Initially ESC will be an order portal which at a later stage, we are looking to expand to include a communication and collaboration interface. For example, floor plans, orders, contracts, etc., will all be accessible in one place."
