Klook, a travel activities and services booking platform, has become the first in its category to offer event booking through its Klook app.
According to Klook's 2018 events survey across 12 destinations, more than 50% of travellers planned their trips around seasonal, one-off activities such as concerts, before booking flights, accommodation and other activities.
It started in September with a collaboration with Taiwanese singer Jay Chou to be the exclusive and official priority booking partner for the singer's The Invincible World Tour II - Macau, which will be held in December.
Through Klook's booking app, people could book tickets in less than 30 seconds and could also see how many customers there were waiting for tickets and percentage of tickets remaining. The booking system was also able to handle sharp spikes in traffic when ticket sales started.
"We're excited to tap into event booking as part of our corporate strategy," says COO and co-founder Eric Gnock Fah. "We've seen a growing demand for experiential travel, and we're excited to offer this convenient new mobile event booking service to our customers."
Following the successful launch of the booking of Chou's concert, Klook will continue to offer event booking services for events over the world.
