Event technology provider Cvent is moving aggressively into AI with two acquisitions announced within weeks.
In the larger of the two transactions, Cvent has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire ON24 in an all-cash deal valued at approximately US$400 million.
The acquisition, announced on 30 December 2025, brings together two established platforms serving enterprise marketers and event professionals, as buying journeys continue to shift toward digital-first and hybrid engagement models.
Under the terms of the agreement, ON24 shareholders will receive US$8.10 per share in cash, representing a 62% premium over the company’s closing share price on 10 November 2025, the last trading day before ON24 disclosed that it had received acquisition interest.
The deal has been unanimously approved by ON24’s board and is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Upon completion, ON24 will be delisted and become a privately held company.
Founded as an intelligent engagement platform for B2B enterprise sales and marketing, ON24 is known for its enterprise-grade webinar and digital engagement capabilities, first-party engagement data, and AI-powered workflows.
Reggie Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Cvent, said ON24 has “earned the trust of enterprise organisations and marketers by delivering reliable, outcome-driven digital engagement”, adding that the combination would expand how brands engage audiences across both digital and in-person experiences.
Just weeks earlier, on 15 December 2025, Cvent announced the acquisition of Goldcast, a fast-growing B2B video content platform built for webinars and events. While financial terms were not disclosed, the deal further sharpens Cvent’s focus on AI-driven content workflows and post-event value creation.
Goldcast’s platform enables marketing teams to instantly turn live event moments into video clips, summaries, and recaps, allowing events to generate reusable content across web, email, social, and sales channels.
By integrating Goldcast’s AI-powered video tools with Cvent’s event management and analytics capabilities, the combined offering aims to extend the lifecycle of events and deliver links between engagement and revenue.
Goldcast has been recognised as one of North America’s fastest-growing technology companies, earning a place on Deloitte’s 2025 Technology Fast 500. For Cvent, which serves approximately 30,000 customers globally – including a majority of Fortune 100 companies – the acquisition adds speed and automation to a growing demand for video-led marketing.
“AI is transforming how content is produced, but it hasn’t changed what audiences value most – authentic moments and experiences,” Aggarwal said. “Events deliver that trust at scale.”
