As Western Australia prepares to ease interstate border restrictions,
Business Events Perth has launched a new online tool to help event
organisers plan meetings and incentive events along the west coast.
The interactive online planner features a guided tour of the state’s
meeting facilities, accommodation, event spaces and experiences. Through
videos and strategically-placed questions, planners can ‘choose their
own adventure’ as they explore Western Australia with a personal driver,
named Alan.
As well as meeting venues and hotel, the virtual tour includes stops
at three UNESCO world heritage listed sites, such as the world’s largest
fringing reef, and allows planners to snap a selfie with much-loved
Quokka.
Business Events Perth chief executive Gareth Martin said: "We hope,
through this interactive tool, we can share everything Western Australia
has to offer, encouraging business event organisers and delegates to
event here again soon."
Stressing the need for safety, Martin added: “While our borders have
been closed, the local business event industry has innovated in response
to restrictions to accommodate the ‘new normal’ for business events. As
early as July, Western Australia held the country’s first large-scale
business event, with Covid-19 safety protocols in place."
Western Australia's domestic borders will reopen on 14 November to
visitors from Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Canberra and the
Northern Territory without any restrictions, however visitors from New
South Wales and Victoria are still required to quarantine for 14 days
upon arrival.
