Cebu has unveiled a dedicated MICE guidebook during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026, which was held at the Mactan Expo in Cebu, Philippines.
The announcement comes just in time as the annual ASEAN tourism show becomes the first event hosted at Cebu’s newest venue, the Mactan Expo Centre (MEC), which officially opened in January 2026.
The MEC joins a growing list of venues, over 20,000 keys, and a vibrant mix of entertainment, retail and dining options to offer delegates experiences beyond the meeting room.
“Cebu has built a professional ecosystem that delivers events, anchored by an award-winning airport, world class hotels and convention facilities like this venue,” said Cleofe Albiso, president of the Cebu MICE Alliance and managing director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
“As an alliance, our goal is to bridge the world with what Cebu has to offer – efficient event solutions, creative talent, and trusted local partnerships.”
With MICE delegates spending over five times more than leisure travellers at an average of US$553, the handbook’s launch also signals that Cebu has a “MICE ecosystem that is ready, reliable and rooted in Cebuano hospitality,” added Albiso.
Moving forward, the Cebu MICE Alliance will work towards adding more vendors to the DOT (Department of Tourism) accredited system, and reaching out to long haul incentive markets that value reliability, connectivity and a strong sense of place.
Available in hard copy and digitally, the 200-page Cebu M.I.C.E guidebook feature some 300 establishments and service providers, hotels, venues, transport partners, event organisers and suppliers.
