Edward Kwek goes from Tourism New Zealand to Tourism Australia

The seasoned MICE executive is tasked to enhance Australia's appeal as a premier business events destination.

Tourism Australia has appointed Edward Kwek as senior business events manager for South and Southeast Asia, based in Singapore. Reporting to Edea Lu, regional business events director for Asia, Kwek will play a crucial role in implementing business events strategies and fostering partnerships in the region's MICE segment.

Kwek brings 17 years of industry experience to the role, most recently serving as trade manager business events for Tourism New Zealand, where he led business events strategy for Southeast Asia. His prior experience includes a stint as regional director of Southeast Asia & India at Melbourne Convention Bureau.

Speaking on his new role with Tourism Australia, Kwek said: “I look forward to working closely with incentive planners, Australian industry operators and the convention bureaus to create exciting, memorable and impressive experiences that celebrate the success of delegates.”
