After a highly successful debut earlier this year, The Meetings Show Asia Pacific has strengthened its team with the appointment of Nelson Khoo as its new event director.

In his new role, Khoo will be responsible for shaping the overall programme development, ensuring alignment with global standards, while driving innovation and growth across the Asia-Pacific region. Next year’s trade show is set to take place on 16-17 April 2025 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Khoo also takes on the role for the newly announced Business Travel Show Asia Pacific, which will be co-located with The Meetings Show APAC. His focus will include uniting and coordinating the efforts of teams working across three continents to deliver an elevated experience for exhibitors and attendees alike.

“We are delighted to welcome Nelson to The Meetings Show APAC at such a pivotal moment,” said David Blansfield, executive vice president of Northstar Meetings Group. “The Asia-Pacific region is a critical market for us, and Nelson’s expertise and vision will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our presence and elevate our team in this dynamic region.”

The Meetings Show Asia Pacific is part of the Northstar Travel Group and represents the largest show launch in the company’s history, exceeding expectations in both revenue and attendance.

Khoo brings over 16 years of experience in the events sector and officially took on the role in September. Before joining Northstar, he served as head of events for Southeast Asia at CWT Travel Services, where he successfully managed a diverse portfolio of events, including large-scale conferences with thousands of delegates.
