MyCEB appoints former minister as new chairman

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has appointed YB V. Sivakumar as its new chairman.

As Malaysia’s former minister of human resources, Sivakumar will be committed to exploring new opportunities to drive MyCEB’s progress, including strengthening Malaysia’s position as a premier destination for international business events; encouraging innovation by integrating the latest technology into event organisation; promoting Malaysia as a sustainable and eco-friendly destination for global business events; and developing local talent in Malaysia’s events sector.

He will also lead the MyCEB board in establishing and monitoring good corporate governance practices and relationships within the organisation.

As Sivakumar leads the bureau into a new chapter, he will continue to focus on driving growth and sustainability in the business events industry, and attracting high-profile events that contribute significantly to Malaysia’s economy and enhance the nation’s global reputation.
