Martin Schnider is the new GM of Mandarin Oriental KL

The new appointment marks the hospitality veteran’s sixth move among MOHG hotels.

Martin Schnider is the new general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. He has over 25 years of experience with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group covering six Mandarin Oriental Hotels and brings superior knowledge and expertise to his new role, along with strategic vision and passion.

Prior to his new role, Schnider was general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Doha, where he successfully spearheaded the hotel's operations earning the hotel a five-star rating in the 62nd annual Forbes TravelGuide Five Four Star Awards in 2020, making it the only hotel in Doha to achieve this distinction.

The 626-room and 20-suite Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, stands in the heart of the city’s business, commercial, retail and entertainment district, next to PETRONAS Twin Towers. Outdoor event spaces with views of KLCC Park include Lounge on the Park where afternoon tea is served, and AQUA Restaurant & Bar.

Meeting space on the ground floor comprises the 535-sqm Diamond Ballroom which hosts up to 360 pax banquet-style. Levels 1 houses a 2,025-sqm Grand Ballroom for 1,800 pax banquet-style and 2,400 pax theatre-style. Level 2 houses 11 meeting rooms and two boardrooms ranging from 16 sqm to 240 sqm.
