Schroeder joins with more than 30 years of hospitality leadership experience across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has appointed Nils-Arne Schroeder as chief operating officer, effective 22 June, as it accelerates the expansion of its global hotel and residences portfolio.
Based in Hong Kong, Schroeder will oversee operations across more than 30 hotels and residences while supporting the opening and integration of over 20 properties in development. These include the group's first hotel in Thailand, new openings in China this year, followed by Italy and Malaysia in 2027 and Saudi Arabia in 2028.
“As we expand to more destinations, Nils’ breadth of experience across regions, cultures and hotel segments will be a major asset,” said LHG CEO Bob van den Oord.
“He has a proven ability to respond to market needs without diluting brand identity, and to turn that balance into sustained performance.”
Schroeder joins with more than 30 years of hospitality leadership experience across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Africa, where he most recently served as senior VP, operations – Europe and Africa for Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, based in Dubai.
Prior to that, he was senior VP, operations – Asia, Middle East and Africa for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Earlier in his career, Schroeder spent more than two decades with Hilton, holding hotel, regional and brand leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. His latest role with the company, based in Singapore, was VP – luxury and lifestyle, Asia Pacific; which he held while concurrently serving as global brand head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
In his new role, Schroeder reports to CEO Bob van den Oord. He will also oversee group operations as well as quality & sustainability.
