Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has a new GM, George Koumendakos, a
Dutch national with 37 years of experience, including 15 years as GM in
5-star hotels around the world.
Koumendakos was most recently the GM at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur
Damansara in Malaysia. He also formerly led the pre-opening team at the
Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark 72 Hanoi.

sophisticated and elegant French colonial design, and warm and
personalised service, along with its distinctive sense of French joie de
vivre, make it one of the world’s most legendary hotels, and I greatly
look forward to being part of its next illustrious chapter,” Koumendakos
said.

extensive refurbishment with six new Metropole Suites - the overall
number of rooms will remain the same. Metropole Hanoi also recently
relaunched its Vietnamese restaurant, Spice Garden, with a new concept,
design and menu.

up to 120 pax, for conferences, gala events or cocktails receptions. Its
European-style ballroom can be partitioned into two separate areas.
Another venue, the 184-sqm La Veranda can host gala dinners, evening
cocktails, meetings and grand banquets for up to 150 pax.
