David Campbell has been appointed general manager at The Howard Plaza Hotel Taipei.

A hotel executive from Canada, Campbell is the first executive officially assigned by Marriott International to lead the future Howard Taipei, Autograph Collection.

This signals greater internationalisation of the Taiwanese property as it joins Marriott International’s independent hotels portfolio.

With over 27 years of experience in international hotel management, Campbell’s career spans seven countries including the US, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Beyond serving as executive chef with Hyatt Hotels, he has also held general manager and other senior leadership positions with Marriott International, amassing over two decades of experience with internationally recognised hospitality brands.

Among his achievements are leading a three-year renovation of the 441-room JW Marriott Bangkok and overseeing the brand transformation of the 634-room JW Marriott South Beach Singapore in just three months.
