Bindu Bhatia has been promoted to managing director, Asia Pacific at Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), succeeding Kai Chan who has made significant contributions during her five-year tenure.
In her new position, effective September 1, Bhatia will be based in CWT's Asia Pacific headquarters, where she will roll out the company's digital transformation programme and continue CWT's growth in the Asia Pacific region.
Reporting to Kelly Kuhn, chief customer officer, Bhatia will also be responsible for approximately 3,000 staff across nine countries.
A company veteran of 20 years, she has had extensive leadership experience in strategic client management, operations, people management, and business development; serving most recently as the company's senior vice president, global programme management.
Ann Marie Stone will be promoted to Bhatia's current role, also effective 1 September, where she will report to Cathy Voss, executive vice president, Global Program Solutions. Having been with the company since 2000, Stone was previously vice president, Global Program Management.
CWT's key appointments in the region come at a time where Asia Pacific nations have been consistently notching up growth rates in the high single digits.
