Thomas Christiansen has been appointed general manager at Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok, Sukhumvit Thonglor, effective February 1.
Christiansen arrives from his most recent position as area general manager of Raffles Hotel Le Royal and Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor in Cambodia. Prior to that, he assumed his first general manager position at Grand Millennium Sukhimvit Bangkok in 2009.
The Danish national began his hospitality career with the front office team at Sequoia Lodge in France, before moving to Asia in 1997. There, he continued his success in various roles ranging from room operations to executive assistant manager and general manager. He has had experience across resort and city hotels in China, Hong Kong, Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok and Cambodia.
Christiansen first joined Marriott International in 2002, where he was in the role of director of front office operations at Marriott Grand Hotel Moscow. He then took up the role as resident manager and hotel manager of Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa, Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa and JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa.
