Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has announced a trio of leadership appointments, effective July 2025, in a move to bolster its organisational growth and advance its Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 goals.

Jason Tan Chin Foo has been promoted to deputy CEO. Previously general manager of business development and marketing, Jason joined BESarawak in 2012 and has been instrumental in elevating Sarawak’s international visibility through strategic marketing and industry development initiatives.

Anedia Kahar, one of BESarawak’s pioneer team members since 2006, has been promoted to general manager of business development and services. Formerly deputy general manager of business development and research, Anedia played a key role in designing and implementing Sarawak’s Legacy Impact framework, and has helped drive data-informed approaches to event performance.

Joining the team as general manager of capacity and digitalisation is Joachim Soon, who brings a strong background in training, communications, and digital engagement. He will focus on enhancing talent development and leading innovation in digital strategy to future-proof Sarawak’s business events ecosystem.

Commenting on the appointments, CEO Amelia Roziman stated, “As we near the final phase of our Legacy Impact Master Action Plan, restructuring is essential to keep pace with industry changes. Beyond developing leadership, we aim to bring in fresh perspectives to enhance the ecosystem and grow a stronger pool of experts.”
