Adrian Chua now heads up the GM role at Penang Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Penang, and Marriott Residences Penang.
Penang Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Penang, and Marriott Residences Penang has appointed Adrian Chua as their new multi-property general manager, effective 1 April 2025. Chua takes over from Subash, who recently retired after an illustrious 50-year career in the hospitality industry.
Bringing more than 30 years of experience to his new role, Chua was most recently the general manager of Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah. He has led an distinguished international career with top-tier brands such as InterContinental Hotels Group and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, after beginning his hospitality journey in 1996 in food and beverage at the renowned Lafite French fine dining restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
In 2007, Adrian joined The Westin Kuala Lumpur as QBA Restaurant and Bar Manager, where he showcased strong leadership and operational skills. His trajectory then expanded across Asia, playing a pivotal role in launching Aloft Beijing Haidian – the first Aloft in Asia Pacific outside North America.
Over the following decade, Adrian has held senior positions at various Marriott properties including Four Points by Sheraton Beijing, Le Méridien Qingdao, Sheraton Xi’an, and The Westin Beijing Chaoyang.
