A case for 10-year TMC contracts

As FCM bags 'industry-defining' contract, its client says: less time lost to admin, greater readiness to challenge the status quo.

FCM Travel has signed a new 10-year global agreement with design and consultancy company Arcadis, extending a partnership that began three years ago.

The agreement consolidates Arcadis’s travel, FCM Meetings & Events, and FCM Consulting services under a single partnership.

The decade-long term is notable in a sector where travel management agreements are commonly renewed on shorter cycles.

The “industry-defining move” is expected to provide greater continuity for both organisations and enable longer-term planning.

Ian Spearing, director of travel at Arcadis, said: “In a service-led travel industry, it’s about pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo, progressively building our travel function as a value driver for the business, not just a cost.”

Melissa Elf, global managing director of FCM Travel, agreed: “Forward-thinking multinational enterprises want a partner who will challenge the status quo and evolve with them. This level of commitment allows the implementation of a strategic, long-view innovation plan that isn't possible within standard three-year cycles.”

Overall, such an alignment could mean less time lost to admin, more energy on strategic planning, proactive solutions, and future-ready service.

Arcadis will continue using FCM's travel platform, which provides predictive analytics and global programme standardisation, while also integrating FCM Meetings & Events and FCM Consulting into its travel strategy.
