Which are the world’s top meeting cities in 2024?

Three Asian cities lead among global destinations for association meetings, revealed ICCA’s latest report.

Singapore, Seoul and Bangkok have been ranked in the top ten of cities by number of global association meetings hosted in those destinations in 2024.

This is according to ICCA’s GlobeWatch: Business Analytics – Country & City Rankings 2024, revealed at IMEX Frankfurt this week, which offers in-depth analysis of global meeting trends over the past year, with data taken from over 11,000 meetings hosted globally.

Vienna topped the city rankings, hosting a total of 153 meetings, with Lisbon a close second on 152 meetings, while Singapore was ranked in third place with 144 meetings. Seoul was ranked joint sixth place with Paris on 124 meetings and Bangkok claimed eighth place, recording 115 meetings.

In last year’s city rankings, Paris topped the list, with Singapore ranked second with 152 meetings, while Seoul was positioned at number 10 with 103 meetings.

For the country rankings, positions were similar to those in last year’s report. Japan was the highest-placed Asian country, ranking in seventh place having hosted 428 meetings, which was the same position it achieved in last year’s rankings, when it recorded 363 meetings

The US placed first in the country rankings with 709 qualifying meetings, also retaining its position from the previous year, while Europe also performed well, taking the next six spots. Italy ranked in second place with 635 meetings, followed by Spain (536 meetings), Germany in fourth place with 491 meetings, the UK in fifth (481) and France sixth (432).

The rest of the top ten was made up of the Netherlands, Portugal and Canada. France was the only country in the top ten to drop its ranking compared to the previous year, having ranked at number four in the 2023 report.
