International Convention Centre Sydney's (ICC Sydney) executive team recently attended the CEO Asia Roadshow to strengthen regional ties and attract more meetings to Australian shores. The team visited Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai and Guangzhou to meet business event agents, corporate firms, associations and members of the media.

At the CEO Asia Roadshow, representatives from various sectors - professional services, technology, science, health and education - heard what ICC Sydney has to offer in terms of facilities and services, as well as the Centre's recent achievements. Furthermore, guests got to sample flavours from ICC Sydney and 'travelled' to the city itself via a special virtual reality experience.

Geoff Donaghy, CEO of ICC Sydney, had this to say, "We are delighted with the positive reception our second tour of the region has received and the interest of Asia-based clients to bring their events to Sydney, with many booking for the first time. We have only just touched down in Australia and already we have seen direct outcomes with events confirmed, new site tours scheduled and dozens more events added to the pipeline."

Donaghy also added that ICC Sydney will continue to build its presence in Asia with the support and collaboration of the city's international bidding experts BESydney, as well as Business Events Australia. "There is a significant opportunity for the Australian business events industry to continue opening up pathways between Asia and Australia and plans are underway for our 2020 Roadshow Series," he concluded.
