SITE, the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, has unveiled a new
sustainability guide focused on the EU's Corporate Sustainability
Reporting Directive (CSRD). Funded by the SITE Foundation and
spearheaded by industry veteran Bruce Bolger, this member-driven
initiative marks a significant milestone in the industry's commitment to
sustainability.
With sustainability gain increased attention and traction in the
business travel sector, Bolger's guide sets to provide insights and
analysis on the EU's new reporting standards outlined in the CSRD.
“The recently enacted CSRD will, over time, change the competitive
landscape in business by introducing a new level of transparency in the
way organisations manage their customers, employees, supply chain and
distribution partners, communities, and the environment,” said Bolger,
founder of the Enterprise Engagement Alliance.
“Because most MICE programmes are planned years in advance, it will
be important for programme planners to start taking into consideration
provisions of the law now.”
Bolger's guide delves into how the EU CSRD will impact incentive
travel organisers and other industry stakeholders. It offers practical
advice on incorporating sustainability into marketing strategies and
outlines suggested CSR reporting frameworks and incentive programme
structures.
The guide, titled "What SITE Members Need to Know About the EU
Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and Its Impact on the MICE
Market," is available as a free online download with the support of the SITE Foundation.
