In the face of tightening budgets and rising economic pressures, APAC event professionals are proving their resilience.
According to the latest Northstar/Cvent Meetings Industry PULSE Survey conducted in March 2025, confidence levels across the region have dipped compared to this time last year. But the full picture is far from bleak: 54% of planners in APAC still report a positive outlook, outpacing global sentiment.
Even amid financial constraints, nearly two-thirds of APAC planners are actively sourcing or booking new events, underscoring the region’s adaptive and forward-moving mindset.
The survey reveals new data on what's top of mind for planners:
Optimism holds, but confidence dips: While APAC event planners remain more optimistic than their global counterparts, confidence levels have softened since March 2024. Still, 54% of planners report a positive outlook this year.
Event demand stays strong: Nearly 67% of APAC planners are actively sourcing or booking new events.
Top APAC destinations: Thailand (61%) and Singapore (56%) lead in APAC, followed by Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam.
Rising costs remain a persistent concern: Airfares, budget constraints, and higher costs of goods and services are top three challenges for planners.
Supplier satisfaction is slipping: Higher room rates, F&B costs, and slower RFP responses are growing challenges. However, APAC still reports higher satisfaction levels than other regions, indicating that supplier relationships remain relatively strong.
