'Cultural interpreters' and event consultants tailor experiences for corporate VIPs.
Luxurique, an event management company for international clients, is sharpening its focus on Japan’s inbound luxury travel market by scaling its consulting services for municipalities, businesses, and tourism partners.
The company, known for curating ultra-high-net-worth travel programmes, will play a bigger role in advising organisations on crafting premium experiences that balance exclusivity with cultural authenticity and sustainability.
“Consulting has always been part of what we do, but we are now formalising and expanding these services to meet the evolving expectations of travellers and institutions,” said Naomi Mano, founder and CEO of Luxurique.
From intermediaries to cultural interpreters
Through its consulting services, it aims to help hotels, regional bureaus, and corporate event planners bring authentic Japanese essence into their events.
“We are not intermediaries, but cultural interpreters. We connect modern business needs with the wisdom and artistry of Japan’s most respected custodians,” said Mano.
“For example, instead of a standard cultural visit, we might open the doors to a centuries-old shrine after hours, guided by a priest who shares ancient wisdom on leadership and mindfulness. The evening might continue with a private dinner in a former samurai residence, where each dish tells a story of heritage and innovation.”

Elite clientele
The company handles high-end incentive programmes, private corporate gatherings, and bespoke VIP experiences ranging from 30 to 500 participants. Key source markets are Europe and North America, with a strong base of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. These include A-list celebrities, luxury brands, professional sports teams, athletes, high-powered executives, and royalty travelling to Japan.
Client requests include private jet arrivals, luxury cruises, and personalised yacht tours. One particularly memorable case was when a client wished to travel to Hokkaido specifically to observe rare bird species only found there, and Luxurique curated a journey that included logistics, field specialists, and tailored experiences to support this interest.
With growing demand for authentic, immersive experiences that balance exclusivity with cultural depth, event organisers are looking beyond traditional venues for off-the-beaten-path destinations, private access to cultural and historical sites, and meaningful engagement with local traditions and communities.
“Every itinerary we design is crafted around this philosophy, ensuring that comfort and refinement are paired with a genuine sense of place. Whether it’s a private tea ceremony in a historic Kyoto machiya or an after-hours visit to an art museum guided by its curator, our programmes embody Japan’s hospitality culture at the highest level,” said Mano.
Access to Japan’s hidden cultural world
Luxurique also offers uniquely discreet, invitation-only cultural access, leveraging decades-long relationships with artisans, temple leaders, and cultural custodians to open doors rarely seen – even by locals.
Built on trust and long-term partnerships, the company has secured masterclasses inside the ateliers of Living National Treasures and hosted gala events inside imperial residences and historic gardens typically closed to the public.
Added Mano: “These experiences are not performances. They are living exchanges of culture and respect, designed to leave a lasting imprint on every guest… We create journeys that exist only once – for one group, in one moment in time.”
Medical retreats
The company is also moving into the fast-growing wellness and medical tourism segment, creating immersive programmes that fuse health, relaxation, and cultural experiences – positioning Japan as a destination where luxury travellers can pursue both wellbeing and discovery. It offers medical-only wellness retreats created in partnership with leading Japanese physicians, therapists, and spiritual leaders.
