Pattaya’s MICE glow-up

Once known for its nightlife, the coastal city of Pattaya has reinvented itself as a hub for business and leisure, with five-star resorts, world-class attractions, and cultural gems less than two hours from Bangkok.

During a familiarisation trip supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau during M&C Asia Connections 2025, new MICE products and standout experiences left 85% of buyers wanting to host their next MICE event in Pattaya.

Here are the highlights that won them over:

Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa, which opened in July 2025 on the quieter Jomtien Beach. Inspired by the sugar palm tree, the 289-room property features three pools, several dining outlets, and four flexible meeting rooms – ideal for teambuilding weekends, training seminars, or cocktail receptions.

Over at Pattaya Beach, the Meliá Pattaya Hotel, opened in February 2025, adds a contemporary flair with the Lay Beach Club featuring a hydro bar with jet-massage pools, a rooftop outdoor theatre with a 15m LED screen, a rooftop Chinese restaurant, and four adaptable meeting spaces.

Beyond the hotels, Pattaya offers unique offsite venues and experiences. At Nong Nooch Botanical Garden, a sprawling 240-hectare nature park in Sattahip, visitors can enjoy lush gardens, cultural shows and even a convention centre on site. A notable highlight is the Valley of the Dinosaurs, which is home to more than 100 life-sized prehistoric replicas roaming among the landscaped greenery and rock formations.

At the Takhian Tia Community in Pattaya’s Bang Lamung district, groups of up to 100 pax can enjoy hands-on coconut plantation learning and traditional indigo fabric dyeing using natural coconut husk colours – a model of sustainable, community-based tourism.

The Sanctuary of Truth, an unfinished museum solely constructed with intricately carved wood, offers an unforgettable cultural backdrop for incentive visits. At Legend Siam Pattaya, a sprawling cultural theme park celebrating Thailand’s iconic legends across eras, delegates can take part in interactive workshops like aromatic salt sachet making.
