Render of ballroom in InterContinental Taipei, scheduled to open its doors by year end.
InterContinental Taipei is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, adding a major new luxury meetings hotel to Taiwan's capital.
Located within the Taipei Dome precinct in the Xinyi District, the hotel will offer around 347 guestrooms and suites, with guestrooms measuring 38sqm and living areas.
For meetings and events, InterContinental Taipei will house a 1,269sqm pillarless Grand Ballroom with a six-metre ceiling, capable of hosting up to 1,200 guests.
Complementing the ballroom is The Gallery, a naturally lit event venue accommodating up to 400 guests, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Taipei 101, the city skyline and the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The hotel is expected to serve as a key MICE hotel, benefiting from its location adjacent to the Taipei Dome and within easy reach of the city's commercial and convention districts.
Beyond its event facilities, the hotel will feature seven restaurants and bars, including the Taipei debut of celebrity chef Akira Back's fine dining concept. Other dining venues will include a steakhouse, Cantonese restaurant, all-day dining venue and lobby bar.
Leisure facilities comprise an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, executive Club InterContinental lounge and concierge services.
The opening offers a gateway city option in IHG Hotels and Resorts' Taiwan portfolio, joining the recently opened InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring and InterContinental Kaohsiung.
