A new five-star hotel has arisen in Sabah — the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu — presenting a convenient base for both leisure and business travellers to get around the island of Borneo.

The hotel offers 222 modern guestrooms thoughtfully furnished with amenities for those staying for pleasure or business including expansive ergonomic workspaces, a 55-inch television, a rain shower and socially conscious bath amenities.

Other amenities within the hotel comprise an infinity pool, a fitness centre, and a rooftop restaurant and bar that overlooks Signal Hill, the islands at Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and the South China Sea.

The hotel features 293sqm of versatile function space with seven meeting rooms. Each meeting room comes with balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, high-spec audio visual equipment for in-person seminars as well as hybrid meetings and social events for up to 170 people.

The 23-storey hotel is centrally located in the city’s dining and entertainment district, and within close proximity to Sabah International Convention Centre, a sports complex and a university. Beyond the shopping hotspots steps away from Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, is the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal from which guests can take a short 20-minute boat trip to surrounding islands to enjoy white sandy beaches and underwater activities.

Travellers arriving at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) can get to the hotel via a 15-minute drive.

“Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu truly embraces the city’s flourishing cultural and culinary scenes, from our ON22 restaurant and ON23 rooftop bar serving traditional family recipes with a modern twist and locally inspired craft cocktails respectively, to guided tours of the colorful street art in the neighbourhood, led by our hotel team,” said Ruben Schrijver, general manager, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu. “Our passionate Sabahan team is excited to share their local knowledge and tips on local, under-the-radar attractions, ensuring travelers and locals alike never miss a moment of adventure.”
