Victoria anchors business events series with a widely anticipated sporting event.
Leading up to the first NFL regular season game to be played in Australia, the Melbourne Business Exchange will spotlight Victoria’s business events hosting capabilities through a series of food and beverage, fintech, sport, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and Australia-US business engagement.
Running from 31 August to 11 September, the Melbourne Business Exchange begins with Fine Food Australia at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. From 31 August to 8 September, more than 25,000 trade visitors from over 30 countries are expected to connect with more than 900 exhibitors across major food and beverage categories.
Intersekt Fintech Festival (3-4 September) will follow at Crown Promenade Melbourne, bringing together fintech companies, investors, policymakers and regulators during FinTech Week Australia to explore opportunities in Australian and international fintech markets.
SportNXT Summit will return to Melbourne from 7 to 9 September, with the Asia-Pacific sports business summit expected to attract more than 1,000 delegates and feature global and domestic speakers focused on innovation and the future of sport.
Also from 7 to 9 September, Data Center World and The AI Summit Australia will be co-located in Melbourne for the first time, highlighting Victoria’s role in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and business innovation.
Anchoring the weeks-long programme is the highly anticipated NFL International Series match between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 11 September. The sold-out game is expected to draw more than 100,000 attendees and will be accompanied by activations and events across the city.
Ahead of the big game, the official Leaders and Legends Lunch on 9 September will feature a fireside chat with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and appearances from league legends and team executives. They will share insights on the future of the game, the league's international ambitions and the opportunities that lie ahead for fans, partners and the broader sporting industry.
The AmCham Business Forum: The Australia-US Trade & Investment Opportunity is also taking place in recognition of NFL’s inaugural in-season game in Australia. On the morning of 9 September, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) will convene a curated forum bringing together senior executives from the US and Australia for a five-panel business programme.
