Hyatt Centric is significantly expanding its presence across the world, following its 2024 debut in Cairo, Shanghai, San José, Santo Domingo, and other key markets. The midmarket lifestyle brand plans to grow its footprint by 50%, adding 35+ new hotels worldwide by the end of 2028.
In Asia Pacific alone, Hyatt Centric is projected to see substantial regional growth, with the brand’s presence in the region increasing by over 75% in the next three years.
Emily Wright, vice president and global brand leader for Hyatt’s Classics & Essentials Portfolios, commented on the expansion, stating, "The brand’s recent growth, including openings and planned developments, meets the rising demand from guests and members, especially Millennial and Gen Z travellers, for more contemporary accommodations with playful details, sophisticated furnishings and socially connected spaces.”

In India, Hyatt Centric is targeting three major cities for expansion. The Hyatt Centric Bengaluru Airport will offer 166 guestrooms and convenient access to Bengaluru International Airport. Additionally, Hyatt Centric Electronic City Bangalore will be located in the technology hub of the city, a significant location for business travellers. Hyatt Centric Vrindavan, meanwhile, will expand the brand’s presence in northern India, in a city known for its spiritual significance and rich architectural beauty.
The brand will debut its first property in Taiwan with Hyatt Centric East Taipei, marking the fifth Hyatt-branded hotel in the destination.
China will see the brand expand its presence with several new hotels, including Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu, which will be Hyatt Centric’s first hotel in China’s southwest region and will offer 259 modern rooms in the heart of Chengdu’s bustling downtown. Other new openings in Shanghai include Hyatt Centric Jinqiao and Hyatt Centric TODTOWN – the Jinqiao location will feature 224 guestrooms, with decor inspired by the newly built Pudong Football Stadium.
Elsewhere in China, Hyatt Centric Tianxin Changsha will open in the capital of central China’s Hunan province and will offer scenic views of the Xiangjiang River. Meanwhile, Hyatt Centric Sapporo will mark the brand’s first hotel in Hokkaido, Japan. Situated near Odori Park, the Sapporo hotel will offer panoramic views.
All these properties, with the exception of Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu (opening 2025), are scheduled to open in 2026.
Beyond APAC, Hyatt Centric properties will also debut in Chicago O’Hare, Hamburg, Reykjavik, and more, within the next two years.
