Taiwan’s Tourism Administration has announced additional support for overseas companies and organisations bringing MICE groups to Taiwan, with new subsidies for company-sponsored reward trips and added benefits for international conference and exhibition visitors.
The MICE measures are among a series of traveller rewards covering FIT, domestic and foreign visitors, with funding totaling about NT$3.33 billion (US$104.4 million) for the initiatives passing legislative review on 14 August.
For eligible incentive groups, organisers can receive NT$1,000 per person per night, capped at NT$4,000 per person, for stays from 10 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Groups must stay at licensed accommodation in Taichung, destinations south of Taichung, Hualien or Taitung counties, or one of Taiwan’s outlying islands.
The new subsidy is in addition to Taiwan’s existing incentive travel programme, which offers eligible groups NT$20,000 to NT$150,000 per group for three-day, two-night itineraries, or NT$400 to NT$800 per traveller for stays of at least four days and three nights, depending on group size.
The measures give MICE planners more flexibility to manage programme costs while encouraging delegates to explore regional destinations beyond Taiwan’s main gateways. Applications for the company-sponsored reward trip subsidy must be submitted at least 15 days before the group’s arrival.
Meanwhile, international visitors attending conferences or exhibitions in Taiwan between 1 September 2026 and 31 March 2027 will also receive a complimentary Taiwan Tour Bus package, with a choice of a half-day or one-day guided tour.
They will also receive a Taiwan PASS (THSR Edition), which provides unlimited Taiwan High Speed Rail travel for three consecutive days, free use of one selected metro system in Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung or Kaohsiung, and one selected scenic shuttle service.
The Tourism Administration said it will also support internationally renowned concerts and flagship entertainment events to strengthen Taiwan’s competitiveness as a large-scale events destination.
