Tourism New Zealand will be shining the spotlight on three new convention centres as it makes a bid for association conference business in the region at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC).

The trio of new venues are the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre, and the upcoming New Zealand International Convention Centre, slated to open its doors in Auckland in 2025.

Tourism New Zealand general manager (NZ & Business Events) Bjoern Spreitzer said that these venues will extend New Zealand’s capacity and capability to host large international conferences.

“We’re looking to build on and enhance the relationships and connections already in place to grow our presence and share of conferences in the Asia Pacific region,” he said. “These range from research alignment through university partnerships and industry collaborations, to direct airline connectivity between Auckland and Christchurch and many destinations across Asia.”

The Tourism New Zealand Business Events team, along with exhibitors like Millennium Hotels and Resorts, will be on hand to showcase the country's diverse event experiences, from the enchanting Hobbiton Movie Set to thrilling adventures in nature in Queenstown with RealNZ and HQ New Zealand.
