From September to November 2024, HKCEC hosted 205 events, including 31 exhibitions and 29 conferences, attracting nearly 2 million attendees.
The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) says that exhibitions have played a major part in the venue’s growth, as well as highlighted Hong Kong’s ability to host large events.
For the period of September to November this year, HKCEC said it had hosted a total of 205 events attended by close to 2 million people. Among these events, 31 were exhibitions and 29 were conferences. Other events included banquets, corporate events and entertainment events such as concerts. These events were attended by international exhibitors and trade buyers, high spending overseas conference delegates, representatives of the local business community and banquet guests.
Exhibitions continue to be one of the key drivers of Hong Kong’s mega events economy. The 31 exhibitions held at the HKCEC in September to November drew an attendance of almost 1.6 million from as many as 150 countries and regions. Trade fairs, conferences and events include Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong, Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), Poly Auction Hong Kong Autumn Auctions 2024, Cosmoprof Asia 2024, 30th East Asian Insurance Congress and the 28th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology.
Monica Lee-Müller, managing director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited, the professional and private management company of the HKCEC, said: “September to November have always been one of our peak event seasons at the HKCEC. We are excited to have welcomed international and local trade buyers, delegates and visitors who packed our halls and concourses to make face-to-face connections and closed business deals at the HKCEC in the last three months.
She added that the success of all these events has reaffirmed Hong Kong’s status as Asia’s events capital and its roles as a “super connector” and a “super value-adder” between the mainland and the rest of the world.
