Oman's Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has appointed Pacific World Travel as its official market base representative for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, as the destination ramps up efforts to grow visitor arrivals from Southeast Asia.
Effective 1 May 2026, Pacific World Travel will lead the Sultanate's tourism development activities across the four markets, covering trade engagement, cooperative marketing campaigns, MICE outreach, media relations, familiarisation trips and business development initiatives.
The appointment forms part of Oman's broader strategy to strengthen long-term partnerships with travel trade stakeholders, airlines, media and industry partners across Southeast Asia.
“Southeast Asia represents one of Oman's most promising growth opportunities,” said Saada Al Harth, business development director at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. “These four markets share a deep appreciation for culture, heritage, and authentic travel values that align naturally with what Oman offers. Pacific World Travel brings both regional expertise and industry relationships that will help us convert that potential into real visitor growth.”
Commenting on the appointment, Cherry Lee, executive director of Pacific World Travel said, “Oman is a destination of remarkable depth and beauty, offering meaningful experiences for today's discerning travellers. We look forward to delivering strong market growth and enduring partnerships across Southeast Asia.”
Initial activities under the appointment will include trade engagement programmes, market education, joint promotional initiatives, media outreach, and targeted business development activities across all four markets.
