Oil & Gas Asia (OGA) 2026 has reinforced Kuala Lumpur’s standing as a regional hub for sector-led business events, bringing a fresh wave of exhibitors and emerging energy markets to the Malaysian capital.

Held from 2 to 4 September at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the 22nd edition featured more than 2,000 participating brands and companies, over 40 speakers and eight international pavilions. Attendance was projected to exceed 30,000 trade visitors.

The latest figures showed that 35% of exhibitors were participating in OGA for the first time. A new Western Australia pavilion broadened its international representation, while collaboration with Timor-Leste included a dedicated business and investment forum examining the emerging market’s petroleum opportunities.

The scale and international participation of OGA exhibitors and visitors continue to drive strong numbers for Kuala Lumpur’s MICE sector. Its 2025 edition attracted more than 33,000 attendees from 81 countries and generated US$42.17 million in reported potential business for exhibitors.

OGA’s co-location with the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Exhibition and Conference and EIC Connect OGA further expanded its role beyond the exhibition floor. The combined programme connected Malaysian SMEs with international companies, investors and project opportunities across markets including Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Indonesia.

PETRONAS also used the opening to announce its intention to sustain Malaysian oil and gas production at two million barrels of oil equivalent per day through 2028, supported by investment in exploration, deep-water developments and enhanced recovery. The announcement demonstrated OGA’s ability to combine trade show activity with senior-level industry news and policy discussion.

OGA will return to KLCC from 7 to 9 September 2027.
