MEET TAIWAN is strengthening Taiwan’s business events workforce through internationally recognised professional certifications as the destination seeks to align local expertise with global standards.

Its 2026 Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) training programme ran over four days on 25-26 July and 1-2 August. Participants represented professional conference organisers, exhibition organisers, destination management companies, the Kaohsiung City Government, universities and strategic industries.

MEET TAIWAN has promoted certifications including CMP and Certified in Exhibition Management since 2012. It said the long-term initiative supports event professionals, government representatives and academics in developing the capabilities needed to host international events.

This year’s cohort also included participants from the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute, including the team behind the Taiwan-Europe Chip Innovation Forum. Their involvement reflects growing demand for conference expertise as Taiwan’s semiconductor sector expands its international research and industry exchanges.

MEET TAIWAN said connecting global certification standards with key industries would help strengthen Taiwan’s destination competitiveness and its role in international knowledge exchange.
