Following the news of its selection as the host venue for the inaugural Super Terminal Expo in 2024, AsiaWorld-Expo has also successfully secured the opportunity to host the UFI Global Congress in Hong Kong in 2025.
The 92nd edition of the UFI Global Congress will feature a series of
activations throughout the "Greater Bay Area” to showcase the region's
vibrant potential.
Expressing his enthusiasm, UFI president Michael Duck stated: "After
touring the world's leading exhibition markets in the US and Germany in
2023 and 2024 respectively, the UFI Global Congress will bring the
global UFI community to Greater China in 2025, concluding its multi-year
journey. This also coincides with the celebration of AsiaWorld-Expo's
20th anniversary, making it a momentous occasion for our hosts."
CEO of AsiaWorld-Expo, Irene Chan, highlighted the strategic location
of AsiaWorld-Expo in the fast-growing Greater Bay Area of China,
underscoring its role as an ideal platform to showcase the market's
synergies and rich potential. She further emphasised the significant developments taking place at SKYCITY, where AsiaWorld-Expo is situated, and the emergence of new cross-border facilities.
“As a well-established MICE destination that is constantly adding new
value to its market position, AsiaWorld-Expo looks forward to providing
an exceptional ‘EXPOtainment’ experience to global visitors and helping
them unlock the enormous potential for business in the region,” she
added.
The UFI Global Congress brings together industry leaders from around
the world for networking and knowledge exchange. The event, which
changes location annually, will return to the Asia-Pacific region in
2025 after its previous edition in 2019.
Scheduled in November each year, the Congress will be held in Las Vegas (1-4 November 2023) before moving on to Cologne, Germany (17-20 November 2024) for the subsequent edition.
Previous hosts include Muscat (Sultanate of Oman), Rotterdam (The
Netherlands), Bangkok (Thailand), St. Petersburg (Russia), Johannesburg
(South Africa), Shanghai (China), Milan (Italy), and Bogota (Colombia).
Hong Kong last hosted the UFI Congress in the year 2000.
