Located in the heart of Taipei, with easy accessibility from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, just 45 minutes away by taxi, and well connected to the city’s rail and metro systems, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) is a major draw for the country’s MICE events.

Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and operated by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the convention and exhibition venue has two major halls connected by a convenient underground pedestrian walkway.

It was the first centre on the island to be awarded the “Green Building Label – Golden Level”. Around 45 hotels of various classes offer 11,500 rooms within a 15-minute journey time by metro. Within easy walking distance, or a single stop by public transport, there are seven hotels alone, with a combined inventory of 1,200-1,300 rooms. One of the nearby hotels, the Royal Tulip Hi-Lai Taipei, will open this October.

Likewise, within and adjacent to the TaiNex complex there are a whole variety of cafes, restaurants and shops.

According to a TAITRA spokesperson, the venue operator works closely with industry allies to maximise TaiNex’s competitive advantages: “As Taiwan's most advanced exhibition and convention halls, TaiNEX 1&2 have built long-term relationships with allies in the MICE industry, including Professional Exhibition Organizers (PEOs), Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs), and Destination Management Companies (DMCs).”

TAITRA also works together with the trade associations of the contractors/specialists themselves. “We are also dedicated to supporting Taiwan's MICE organisations, such as the Taiwan Exhibition and Convention Association (TECA) and the Taiwan Convention & Exhibition Association (TCEA). To ensure the smooth execution of MICE events, we have the support of highly experienced contractors. With these partnerships and support, TaiNEX 1&2 have become the most important exhibition hub in Taiwan, and all events held at TaiNEX 1&2 have achieved tremendous success,” the spokesperson points out.

Further new developments within the Nangang area will provide delegates and organisers with extra amenities such as ‘Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Nangang’, currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2025.
