Dusit International has officially opened its first hotel in Malaysia, Dusit Princess Melaka, marking a significant development in Melaka’s hospitality infrastructure ahead of upcoming tourism milestones such as UN Tourism 2025 and Visit Malaysia 2026.
The 296-room property, located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage City, features one of Melaka’s largest meeting and event spaces. Spanning 774 sqm, the venue offers full LED screen capabilities and flexible room configurations designed to host conferences, weddings, and private events.
“Dusit Princess Melaka opens at a crucial moment for the tourism sector,” said Mohamad Bukhari bin Che Man, director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC), State of Melaka, during the hotel’s grand opening on 29 May 2025. “As we gear up to host global events such as UN Tourism 2025 and lead into Visit Malaysia 2026, the hotel represents a meaningful addition to Melaka’s expanding hospitality landscape.”
Melaka saw over 15 million visitors in 2024 – a 74% year-on-year increase – with the state government extending its Visit Melaka Year campaign through 2026.
