The first Money 20/20 Australia is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees.
Melbourne will host the first Australian edition of Money20/20, the global fintech exhibition and conference, from 15 to 17 February 2028.
The event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, after being secured by the Melbourne Convention Bureau with support from the Victorian Government and Tourism Australia.
Money20/20 Australia is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees, including banks, payments companies, fintechs, startups, investors and policymakers from Australia, New Zealand and overseas.
The launch adds Melbourne to Money20/20’s international calendar, which already includes major shows in cities such as Las Vegas, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Riyadh and Miami.
Money20/20 president Tracey Davies said Australia and New Zealand had built one of the world’s most advanced fintech ecosystems and the new event would showcase that strength to a global audience.
Victoria is positioning the event as a boost for its fintech and business events sectors. The state is home to major fintech brands including Afterpay, Square, Up Bank, Judo Bank and MYOB, while financial and insurance services contributed $57.4 billion to Victoria’s economy in 2024-25.
