Brand activation has moved from the periphery to the strategic centre of the global MICE industry. Once regarded as a premium add-on, immersive brand experiences are now a primary driver of event value, and a market in their own right.
According to a Data Insights Reports study on Global MICE and Brand Activation Market: 2033 Growth Analysis, the combined market is valued at an estimated US$1.48 billion, with a projected CAGR of 6.8% through 2034. Asia Pacific leads as the fastest-growing corridor, fuelled by economic expansion, infrastructure investment, and rising corporate marketing budgets.
The report identifies brand activation services as one of the sector’s most dynamic segments, growing in parallel within the diverse MICE spectrum and becoming deeply embedded across exhibitions, conferences, incentive programmes and corporate events.
Glenn Chia, business development manager at Encore Event Technologies Singapore, says shifting audience expectations are the real catalyst. “Audiences expect more than PowerPoint presentations and unstructured networking drinks. They want experiences that are interactive, memorable and meaningful,” he says. Brand activation help organisations build genuine connections by transforming passive events into interactive experiences.
Encore has positioned itself at the forefront of this shift across Asia Pacific. For a VIP event for Qantas in partnership with Doltone House Group, the company replaced a traditional gala format with an immersive journey celebrating Australian Indigenous culture by featuring personalised table projections, kinetic lighting and a curated culinary experience.
For a Geely automotive launch, interactive LED environments responded to guests’ movement, guiding them through the brand story before the vehicle reveal. “It wasn’t simply revealing a product; it was allowing guests to experience the brand’s values of innovation, technology and sustainability firsthand,” says Chia.
Technology is accelerating the trend. The market report cites AI-powered tools, VR, AR, and data analytics as key drivers reshaping brand activation within MICE. Chia sees this directly in client briefs across the region. “AI is no longer just improving operational efficiency behind the scenes; it’s enhancing engagement in real time through personalised experiences, live translations and interactive activations,” he says.
Encore is preparing to launch a proprietary AI engagement platform that transforms delegates into AI-generated characters within bespoke brand narratives, creating shareable content that extends engagement well beyond the event.
Measurement is evolving too. Clients are shifting from headcount metrics toward behavioural analytics and sentiment tracking. “The question we’re hearing most often isn’t ‘How many people attended?’ It’s ‘What did they feel, remember and do afterwards?’” says Chia.
With convention centre capacity expanding rapidly across China and Southeast Asia, the structural conditions for continued growth are firmly in place. As Chia puts it, “The future of events isn’t about creating bigger stages. It’s about creating deeper connections.”
