Major policy research conference heads to Chiang Mai

The mountainous city in northern Thailand will host some 1,000 attendees at the International Conference on Public Policy in 2025.

Chiang Mai, Thailand has won the bid as host city for the International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP2025) in 2025, set to welcome more than 1,000 international delegates and generate more than THB 63 million (US$1.9 million) for the country.

The International Public Policy Association (IPPA) had visited for a site inspection in December 2021, led by TCEB (Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau) Director of Conventions Nooch Homrossukhon, together with representatives from Chiang Mai University.

IPPA's five-day visit also included a welcome dinner and reception with Vice Governor of Chiang Mai, Chatchaval Chayabutr, and TCEB Director of Northern Regional Office, Chuta Tharachai.

Results of the bid was unveiled at IPPA's ICPP Committee Meeting in January 2022, with Thailand winning over five other cities globally for the in-person event.
