Best Western has signed the first of its new brand Vib in Bangkok, with an opening slated for the first quarter of 2018. The 89-room property will be located close to Victory Monument, one of Bangkok's central skytrain junctions.
"Vib stands for 'vibrant' and targets downtown areas with high foot traffic and close proximity of points of interest such as shopping and culture," said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western Hotels & Resort's Managing Director of International Operations Asia.
"Millennials are our primary target due to the design and facilities but we're convinced that a larger audience will be attracted by this brand as well."
The urban-lifestyle boutique hotel Vib features a "Grab & Go" concept, and planned partnerships with famous brands of local dining in the hotel lobbies in order to integrate the hotel more with its surroundings. The hotel will also feature large lobbies intended as networking spaces for business travellers to connect with each other.
Bangkok's first Vib property is to be developed by Matasiri Co., with construction getting underway in June 2016. The first Vib properties will open in Chicago and Miami this year; in Asia the brand is also planned for Seoul and Vientiane.
