Zouk Group is making a push into the business events and MICE space, announcing a major revamp of its flagship Clarke Quay venues that will significantly expand their suitability for conferences, product launches, brand activations and corporate networking events.

“In a global landscape marked by change, we are choosing to invest ambitiously in expanded capacity, state-of-the-art technology, and a rich spectrum of inclusive, multifaceted experiences that include live music and MICE,” Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group, stated.

The entertainment and lifestyle group will shut all three venues at its eponymous Singapore nightclub – Zouk Mainroom, Capital and Phuture – from the first quarter of 2026 for phased renovation works. The upgrades are scheduled for completion by June 2026, in time for Zouk’s 35th anniversary.

Modularity and AV upgrades for more event types

At the centre of the revamp is the Zouk Mainroom, which will be reconfigured with a fully modular layout featuring movable acoustic walls. The new design will allow the space to be expanded or subdivided to accommodate a range of event formats, from smaller presentations and performances to large-scale product launches and experiential showcases.

Additional upgrades include 12m-wide high-resolution LED walls in the Mainroom, redesigned entrances for Zouk Mainroom and Phuture, and enhanced VIP seating with plush sofa layouts positioned behind the DJ booth in all three venues.

All speaker systems across the venues will be upgraded to concert-grade technology, enabling Zouk to host live acts and immersive events to international production standards.

The enhanced infrastructure will increase total venue capacity to 3,500 people, up from the current 3,000.

The phased closure will begin with Capital, the venue aimed at working professionals, which will close on 17 January 2026. Phuture, targeted at young adults, and the flagship Zouk Mainroom will follow.

Diversification marks new chapter

Zouk Group said the repositioning reflects a broader strategy to diversify beyond nightlife. Post-renovation, its day-to-night programming will extend to fashion pop-ups, wellness sessions, business tourism events, and creative networking activations, alongside its established DJ and live music offerings.

The group expects the revamp to drive a 20% increase in visitor traffic once the venues reopen.

Founded in 1991 by retail entrepreneur Lincoln Cheng, the group was later acquired by executive chairman Lim Keong Hui for S$14 million (US$10.9 million) in 2020 through his private investment firm, Tulipa, after Genting Hong Kong divested assets during the pandemic.

With its latest revamp, Zouk says it is positioning itself not just as a nightlife destination, but as a flexible, high-capacity urban venue capable of supporting Singapore’s evolving business events and experiential economy.
