Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13 February inaugurated the International Convention and Expo Centre, Goa (ICEC) during India Energy Week 2026.

With an investment value of approximately 750–800 crore rupees (US$82.7–88.2 million), ICEC comprises a 21,425 sqm convention hall for up to 4,200 delegates, a 9,430 sqm management training facility and a 7,807-sqm exhibition hall.

The project was realised through a institutional framework led by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as the project owner under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, with Engineers India Limited providing engineering supervision and execution oversight. The centre was designed by CP Kukreja Architects, which considered functional flexibility alongside local climate and cultural context.

The project reportedly received “strong support” from the Government of Goa, which shares the vision of enhancing the coastal state’s MICE infrastructure and readiness to host large-scale international events

Situated within the campus of ONGC in Sancoale, South Goa, ICEC is also in proximity of the Goa International Airport and resort belts.

Besides the main venues, ONGC also listed work spaces for administrative staff, syndicate rooms, classrooms, conference rooms, a VIP lounge, dining options, a landscaped court and other required areas for functional and technical completion of the buildings.
