WorldHotels has announced a new regional leadership team at the helm, with Olivier Berrivin of BWH Hotel Group appointed as managing director for Asia Pacific, while company veterans Roland Jegge and Melissa Gan have been given expanded roles.
Berrivin is no stranger to the hospitality industry with decades of experience under his belt. He is also a fourth generation hotelier who grew up in his family’s hotel business that included four properties.
He started his hospitality career with the Lucien Barrière Hotel Group in France and has held various positions with Accor Asia before joining BWH Hotel Group, WorldHotels’ parent company, in 2015 as managing director – Asia.
Under his leadership, BWH saw particular success in the development of upscale and boutique brands across APAC. He also implemented several key initiatives which brought about improved revenue management services, sales and marketing support, new architectural and design services, and additional training for upscale properties.
In his new role with WorldHotels, Berrivin will manage regional operations, with a focus on hotel development and growing brand awareness.
“The team in place has done a phenomenal job of serving our rich and diverse collection of hotels across the region. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues in APAC as we support our existing portfolio of hotels while also welcoming even more exceptional properties to WorldHotels in the future," said Berrivin.
David Kong, president and CEO of WorldHotels, expressed his delight in welcoming Berrivin to "our seasoned team of WorldHotels APAC leaders".
Jegge will continue his 25-year run with WorldHotels as he shifts from his current role of APAC president to senior advisor to Kong. Gan, who has been with the company since 2005, will assume increased responsibilities in the newly created role as WorldHotels chief commercial officer APAC.
