ICMS Australasia (ICMSA) has expanded its footprint in New Zealand with the launch of a new office in Christchurch. The newly established office will be headed by Karen Hamilton, who has over 16 years of experience in the business events sector in New Zealand.

ICMSA's owner and managing director, Emma Bowyer, revealed that moving beyond Australia had been a long-term goal for the company, and will enable the PCO to better serve its association clients looking to host their events in New Zealand.

Growing business prospects in New Zealand also made it ripe for ICMSA's expansion, said Bowyer. “The opening of Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, the Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre coming online this year, and excitement building for SkyCity’s New Zealand International Convention Centre bodes well for a strong business pipeline," she added.

ICMSA has since been chosen as PCO for the Australasian Polymer Conference in New Zealand in 2024 and the 62nd Annual Meeting of the International Forensic Toxicologists in Auckland in 2025.

The move has been welcomed by ChristchurchNZ Head of Business Events, Megan Crum, who said that the arrival of ICMSA would bring new high-profile event opportunities and boost Christchurch's reputation as a great place to host and do business. With the new office, ICMSA will be looking for opportunities throughout New Zealand.
