Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has unveiled an additional investment of US$750 million for its multi-dollar transformation, bringing the total investment to US$1.75 billion. The full-scale transformation is set to commence construction by July 2025, and is slated for completion by July 2029.

The expansion will include a luxurious hotel tower with a sky roof, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena and additional premium MICE space, as well as new F&B and nightlife offerings.

Refurbishment works are currently underway on Hotel Tower 3, which will have 550 rooms and 380 suites in addition to the Hotel Lobby and Sands SkyPark. It will also include a reimagined VIP arrival experience, new premium dining and retail offerings, lobby transformation and renewed focus on wellness experiences for guests.

Following the revamp, the integrated resort has launched two distinct categories – The Sands Collection and The Paiza Collection. Each has unique room types, from the Paiza Club Room with 24-hour butler service to the Sands Premier Room with a bespoke armoire and cocktail trolley.

There are also one-of-a-kind suites such as the one-bedroom Horizon Suite, with its spa and treatment zones including a Himalayan Salt Wall and Hammam shower, and the two-bedroom Presidential Suite with a state-of-the-art golf simulator.

At present, Hotel Towers 1 and 2 have been completed. This revamp is part of the Bay Precinct Strategy; since its launch in 2022, MBS has worked with organisations including the Singapore Tourism Board and the United Overseas Bank to launch joint activations, enlivening the Marina Bay precinct.

The organisation also recently signed a three-year partnership with the National Arts Council, agreeing to turn the integrated resort into a canvas for the arts and feature local artists at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

What to look out for

MBS has also unveiled its new booth at the inaugural Meetings Show Asia Pacific, offering visitors to the show a preview of how venues can be more experiential.

  • With a new booth layout, the bar counter takes centre stage, with a discussion area filled with armchairs and coffee tables to allow for quieter conversations and discussion.
  • A delicious menu that puts a spin on local favourites and flavours, with offerings including Chicken Satay with Pineapple Salsa, Otah Tacos, Ayam Buah Keluak Tart, and Mini Fruit Rojak. Yum!
  • Twilight – a cocktail comprising gin, butterfly pea essence, lemon juice, honey, topped with seasonal edible flowers and bubble aroma essence, and Effervescence, its non-boozy counterpart with ginger essence, lemon juice, honey, finished with gold flakes and bubble aroma essence.
