Very unlike the Swiss Family Robinson experience.
Raffles Maldives Meradhoo has launched a four-night, five-day, all-inclusive island rental deal costing US$1million. The You Run Raffles Maldives deal includes Raffles butlers, and an additional 'deserted island' that can be transformed into a celebration or adventure space. The resort sits on the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, one of the most remote corners of the Maldives.
The You Run Raffles Maldives deal can host up to 70 guests. Guests arrive on a private charter flight from the Maldivian capital Male or land at Kooddoo airport, located in the resort's atoll of Gaafu Alifu, via Gaan Airport.
The first island houses 21 vast beach villas while the second island is an "overwater retreat" where villas perch over gently lapping waters.
Resort general manager, Mr Olivier Larcher, said enquiries have predominantly come from Russia, UK, Singapore, the US and the Middle East, from royals to high net worth individuals.
Besides castaway adventure themed parties, the resort has created a once-in-a-lifetime DJ experience on an uninhabited island, by request. "Throughout the day/night, world renowned DJ's performed their set, alongside a shisha 'chill-out' area and land/water sport offerings; including beach football, paddle boarding, jet skiing etc. During their stay we received another request to rent a submarine for 50 passengers and a mega yacht to complete the experience."
For those who say that US$1 million is steep, Mr Larcher responded:
"The offering is for a four-night, five-day stay, for up to 70 guests - all of which will receive the exceptional service that is so renowned with the Raffles brand. Every guest will receive their own Raffles Butler - again, something that is synonymous with the brand. That being said, at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, we have taken personalised service to the next level, with your butler doubling as a Marine Butler to ensure your friends/family/colleagues get the most out of their experience and explore the best bits of one the world's largest and deepest atolls.
"Every guest will enjoy a truly unique, private experience as they spend the four-nights exploring two remarkable private islands and the delicious, varied F&B offerings."
The culinary team offers tailored dining experiences and guests can wine and dine anytime and anywhere they wish for free. Dinner options include a supper of beef tenderloin with chimichurri at The Firepit, an elemental, tiki torch-lit barbecue restaurant where diners sit at sunken tables that have been carved from the sand. Another venue is Nikkei restaurant, Yuzu, offering sushi and pisco sours, and a blend of traditional Peruvian dishes with influences from Spain, Italy, China and Japan.
