As business kicked into full swing at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (APAC) 2026, attendees were enveloped in a total sensory experience where sights, scents and sounds helped cement stories and create lasting brand imprints.

Here’s a recap of experiences that hit the five senses on Day 1 of TMS APAC 2026.

Scents we picked up on

The Amara Hotels & Resorts booth (G54) showcases a partnership that serves as inspiration for the different ways in which hospitality brands can use scents for in-person, B2B marketing.

Rather than relying on brand-signature fragrances, Amara worked with The Blending Bar to help event visitors tie individual properties to particular aroma that are easily associated with the brand’s particular locations, for example, notes of osmanthus for the Shanghai property as opposed to coconut for Bangkok. Such scent-driven associations deepen retention of Amara locations long after buyers step away from the booth.

Flavours we tasted

Heroing South Korea's remarkable Haeyneo, a lineage of free-diving fisherwomen, Jeju Tourism Organization (H30) brought to TMS APAC 2026 a colourful selection of seafood-driven dishes including Jeju black pork served with an anchovy sauce, and a conch salad. The activation was a tasty reminder of the power of food to connect people and places.

Updates we heard

At the MICE Studio, we heard about the opening of a new convention centre in Bali. When launched in September this year, Ayana Convention Centre will give the popular island destination its very first convention and meeting venue with indoor-to-outdoor spaces that enjoy sunset views. The impressive beachside convention facility features 20 meeting rooms with combined capacity for 1,200 delegates in roundtable set-up, or more than 1,500 guests in theatre configuration. Items we felt

Attendees also had their tactile fix when they went through boxes of Minifiglab parts to build their own custom figurine, complete with a 3D-printed “spirit animal” based on the results of a personality test. The Minifiglabs experience is part of a debuting series of experience bars at TMS APAC, created in partnership with Searix – Experiential Tech, LunaLab Global, Pétale Tea, The Sirius Sound™, Minifiglabs, PickyPic Photobooth and One Dollar Only.
